Wat is one of Ethiopia’s most popular cooking sauces. Mamia’s prepared it in small batches over many hours, combining fresh produce with spices sources directly from Ethiopia to capture the true taste of Ethiopian home cooking.
Wat is traditionally used as a simmer sauce in meat or seafood dishes, but it’s just as delicious with tofu or vegetables for a mouth-watering vegetarian meal in minutes. Simply sauté 250grams of your favourite mean or vegetables until done, add Mamia’s Wat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve over rice or pasta. Wat is also great as a marinade or as a relish straight out of the jar.
